Season two of The Other Autism podcast is in the works. If you haven’t listened yet, you can find it here: The Other Autism. Or search for it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Season two will start off covering a topic I’ve been avoiding: applied behaviour analysis or ABA. And the first episode of the season will also be the first interview episode! I can’t wait for you to meet my very first guest.
Why have I been avoiding ABA? Well, I’ve been avoiding it for several reasons. When I was first diagnosed as autistic and gradually became exposed to the controversy surrounding ABA, I really didn’t know what to think so I stayed neutral.
Now, after reading a lot of research, hearing the stories of people who have received ABA, and writing assignments on the subject for my Master of Health Studies program, I’ve developed a pretty solid stance. I won’t say what my stance is. Yet. I’ll let my guest tell her story and express her own views, and then I’ll try to express mine.
In the meantime, I invite questions that you’d like answered in upcoming episodes or posts. Please write to firstname.lastname@example.org
